I Think I'll Go For a Run

I swear, it reminds me of Forrest Gump.  Alisa's been in gymnastics all her life so she's really strong.  In P.E. class at school, she more than aces every strength and conditioning test she's given (once, she did 80 pushups...real pushups, on her hands and toes.)  Her P.E. coach says she should be running cross country for the school, but she can't due to her gym schedule.

Aspire dedicated this past competition season to raising money for breast cancer awareness.  The girls raised $4,000 and planned to present it to the Komen Foundation at the annual Race for the Cure in NW Arkansas.  Alisa and many of her teammates decided to run in the race as well.  It was Alisa's first 5K race ever.

There were over 15,000 participants in all the races combined.  Alisa finished #235 overall with a time of 27:xx and #66 out of all the females.  She had a great time and she said she wants to take up running now.
